Tibetan Living Communities was founded by Lobsang, with the assistance of monks from Gyudmed Monastery and American friends in May 2003. It is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization based in California. Over 95% of the funds have been spent on a variety of projects benefiting Tibetan children and adults in exile and Tibet.
Current Project
TLC is establishing a College Fund to assist Tibetan children who would like to continue their education. Since collage fees are very expensive, it is a crucial moment after high school and a turning point for many young Tibetans. Therefore, TLC wants to create an opportunity for young Tibetans to continue into their college education.
Past Projects
TLC has funded several projects at the Rabgayling Tibetan Refugee Settlement in South India. Among the projects were a solar hot water system, an electric generator, medical supplies for the hospital, and a playground for the preschool. TLC also funded installation of a solar hot water system at Manjushree Orphanage which is located in Northeast India in the foothills of the Himalayas. We still have sponsorship program.
Raising Funds
Art of Compassion Tour 2012 is created to raise funds for TLC through the creation of Sand Mandalas, presenting lectures, meditations, prayers, art classes and selling Tibetan handicrafts during the tours. We appreciate you support.
