Your first contribution will be sent by TLC, after that it is your responsibility to send a check or Money Order either directly to the Tibetan you are sponsoring or through TLC if you would like to receive a tax donation letter. The Tibetans are able to open a bank account to cash U.S. checks. It is estimated that sending information from the USA and cashing the check will take about two months owing to the slowness of mail sent to India and the difficulty in cashing checks. |

| Non-monetary gifts may be sent to the sponsoree, unfortunately there is no guarantee that the gift will reach the intended recipient. |
| It is best to mail your sponsorship checks semi-annually, preferably, annually. |
| If at any time you are not able to continue a sponsorship, please contact us so that we may attempt to find a new sponsor. |
| We encourage you to correspond with your sponsoree , if possible. If your sponsoree cannot write in English, people are locally available who can help them. Most Tibetans are eager to hear about the lives of their sponsors and are willing to share their own lives. Letter writing can create long lasting, meaningful friendships and are a source of inspiration and support. Pictures of you and your family are usually treasured. |
